With the 2019 revision of Germany’s Technical Rules for Operational Safety (TRBS 2121), scaffolders were confronted with major new requirements.
Those who had not yet adopted advance guardrail systems were now obliged to retrofit in order to comply.

System-integrated advance guardrail
Fully compliant with modern safety regulations
The top guardrail, serving as fall protection, is installed from the lower, already secured level – thanks to the system’s design – and remains in place without the need for any additional components.
Dismantling is also carried out from a protected area.
In this way, the system fully meets all requirements of Germany’s TRBS 2121 – one of the most forward-thinking safety regulations in modern scaffolding.
And it does so without requiring a complete system change!

At the same time, a significant reduction in component weight has been achieved – a key requirement for efficient and low-effort work on site.

Smart Safety
The optional possibility to create a permanent guardrail solution with MJ OPTIMA – without replacing any components.
Installation and removal of standard OPTIMA guardrails is performed exclusively from the lower, secured scaffolding level.
The TRBS-compliant assembly sequence is automatically enforced by design.
Unauthorized removal of guardrails (e.g. by scaffold users) is not possible.
No special guardrails required.
Existing OPTIMA posts can be upgraded to MJ OPTIMA permanent with minimal effort
